Description

Music, Art & Drama M.A.D. Society is an easy, all inclusive, low prep DIY curriculum for adults who want to become MAD Society club Coaches. MAD is attractive because of its vintage goal of creating performances that are simple & authentic, showing the personality and uniqueness of the actors & their interests, rather than just putting on a show.

MAD Coach: the adult in charge
MAD Wingman: the person navigating the MAD plane for the Coach (think Top Gun)

What to look forward to if you become a MAD Society Coach...
~A new adventure that bonds each Coach & Student (you will become cool to your kid & your community).
~God’s creative handprint on display through MAD Students and their God-given gifts.
~A collaborative group setting free from secular agendas, cell phones, or “wrong answers” because art is subjective.
~Vintage-feeling shows that create & build healthy friendships, leadership skills, & personal value.
~A way to create community for homeschool co-ops, private schools, nursing homes, churches, ministries or any group of people looking to be creative while nurturing God's identity in each others lives, together.

The MAD Society Handbooks contain every detail needed to produce these show options...
- Dinner Theater
- Spring Play
- Talent Show
- Variety Show
+ Awesome Cast & Crew Parties!

The MAD Society "Jobs" process creates a 'student council' style approach to getting everything done for MAD, with the goal of giving as much responsibility to the MAD students as possible.

MAD Society Handbooks contain a basic introduction, training information, start up procedures, list of supplies, structure of meeting activities and advice. There are instructions, worksheets and printables for the MAD shows & MAD jobs. There are calendars already filled in with everything you need to do for MAD, charts to help stay organized that are customized to MAD, meeting agendas & checklists for the Coach & Wingman, "Master Event Guides" to plug your show information into for easy performances & more.

The first M.A.D. Society (Music, Art & Drama) was a club started by Bethany Baldwin in 2020 for the homeschooled teens in her life. As a Columbus College of Art & Design graduate and mother of 3 biological children and 2 adopted children, she wanted to find a way to use the arts as an avenue for her children and their friends to flourish the way God intended them to flourish.

Each MAD Society will offer unique adventures and goals based on the leaders, volunteers and its members, but all MAD’s should maintain these basics:

M.A.D. Society “IS”
-a club where everyone can contribute, shine and be recognized as infinitely valuable.
-a club where everyone is challenged to learn new things, develop new skills, express feelings and opinions safely, work on healthy relational skills, and learn to work well in teams.
-a club where Jesus' love is evident while also respecting differences & honoring people just as Jesus modeled
-a club where people can be creative without being shamed.
-a club with a clear, written structure that will be followed for the protection of everyone that participates.
-dependent on good attendance for successful performances & healthy student/guardian/Coach/ relationships
-student cell phone free.

I'm so thankful you found MAD! I’m Bethany Baldwin, owner & creator of Music, Art & Drama MAD Society. I want to help you become the kind of Coach that leads students to find, cultivate & thrive in their God-given gifts, identity & destiny.
