Muscular System Diseases and Disorders Data Retrieval Chart (DRC)

What do you get? This Data Retrieval Chart (DRC) is a graphic organizer that lists some of the most common diseases and disorders. It has space for students to describe "What is it?," "Signs and Symptoms," "Treatment," and “Contagious?" The diseases and disorders are pulled from the Simmers DHO Health Science cengage textbook, so students should have no problem finding information there. That textbook is specifically aligned to the NCHSE Allied Health exam. Essentials to Healthcare is the second course in almost all healthcare science pathways so these are relevant to ALL EOPAs. 

How can you use it? This is great to have students complete ahead of your lecture in a flipped classroom setting. You can also jigsaw these graphic organizers and assign individual students or small groups of students particular topics and allow them to share what they've learned with the rest of the class. This makes them accountable for their own learning. This is also a great, relevant and functional assignment to use if you have a substitute teacher in your classroom.
