Description

This 5th Grade set of 37 Google Slides, printable worksheets and quiz (Easel and Worksheet version) are designed to help students understand how to multiply decimals up to thousandths by powers of ten, using exponents to denote powers of ten (5.NBT.A.2).

Google Slides

Five teaching slides are provided and can be used separately to introduce decimal multiplication, printed and used as posters or used independently by students prior to completing the activity.

Thirty two question slides are provided where students complete tables with correct information using their knowledge of patterns of powers of ten and decimal place value. The products in each table have been designed to demonstrate the movement you would see in a place value chart to reinforce this learning.

Four types of questions are included to engage students

Question types:

1. Fill in the missing products

2. Fill in the missing power of ten

3. Drag and drop the calculation needed to work out the product.

4. Combined missing information.

Worksheets and Quiz

A black and white version of the google slides is included along with a detailed answer key.

A one page quiz is included which can be used as a review of the topic, homework, test preparation or assessment. A TPT Easel digital assessment version is included.
