In these 3 digital escape room activities, students practice their times tables from 1 x 1 up to and including 10 x 10. Perfect for building math facts fluency, review practice and fun. A GIF appears after students decode each lock to ramp up engagement. Perfect for in-person or distance learning.

-- Analyze data INSTANTLY - all digital

** There is a teacher dashboard that displays all the students in the class

** Gives you instant access to see students' performance on any lock

** A check mark indicates they answered correctly

** An X indicates they are still working on the lock, or that they are struggling on the lock

-- Every 2 locks covers a times table.

** The first two locks captures ALL the 1's times tables

** The next two locks capture ALL the 2's times tables

** This continues until the last two locks, covering ALL the 10's times tables

** For the division escape room, the first two locks cover divisors of 1

** The next two locks cover divisors of 2.

** This continues until the last two locks, covering divisors of 10.

    -- Differentiating

** The last slide of the activity prompts students to draw their favorite GIF

** Allows other students time to finish

** Allows you to pull small groups or 1-on-1

    -- Not timed

** Jo Boaler is big on not timing students, which reduces math anxiety and helps build growth mindsets

-- The 3rd Digital Escape Room

** Half the locks require students to solve problems and type a code using the key

** The remaining locks require students to match cards containing a problem and answer

Directions are provided on a slide and also on a short video in the activity. Super easy to implement and straightforward using Desmos, a free and user-friendly platform.
