Multiplication Rap - Fact Fluency

Multiplication Rap by Rock ‘N Learn helps boost multiplication fluency with fact drills and skip counting practice. It also includes a short concept section to help students understand what multiplication is and how it may be used in everyday situations.

The first presentation of facts in each fact family is given without a pause before the answer. Each fact family song also includes a second presentation of the facts with a delayed answer. This gives students an opportunity to answer first and self check.

Initially, students may just want to watch and listen. Afterwards, encourage students to rap the facts along with D.J. Doc Roc. Once students become more familiar with their math facts, have students sit with a partner and see who can beat the D.J. the fastest!

“What is Multiplication?” includes an introduction of multiplication as repeated addition, equal groups, and arrays as well as an overview of the commutative property.

Some students feel more comfortable using skip counting when they begin learning about multiplication. It’s a good bridge between addition and multiplication.
