Description

Teaching gifted, talent development or preparing students for Common Core by teaching them to identify their strengths?

This is the perfect way to introduce Multiple Intelligence: 8 characteristics that students can use to best identify ways in which they can make positive growth. They are: nature smart, logic smart, self smart, people smart, word smart, picture smart, body smart, and music smart.

Introduce and explore Multiple Intelligence in depth with students the elementary or primary and secondary levels (1 of each presentation available here at my TpT store). This is the PRIMARY or ELEMENTARY version, which directs students at the end to the primary- or elementary-level MI survey.

You can also use this PowerPoint with staff; have them learn their MIs at a PD session and then gain deeper understanding into their students. They'll have fun and love learning more about themselves and each other!

Howard Gardner is introduced, as is the concept of MI, to children of all ages. Students review the many characteristics of each of the 8 accepted MIs, with visual references to an example of each.

Each slide has further information that slides in upon a click prompt, two further boxes per slide, to increase understanding. Then, with two more clicks, the slides are wiped out, and you can prompt to the next page.

At the end of the presentation, the slides prompt students to be ready to complete their own MI survey.

Then, they are directed to the address, complete the survey and have their own copy of their personalized MI inventory.

I recommend you have bookmarked or saved to a favorites file the web address of the survey so students can access it easily.

Young children may need support and supervision answering the questions and while using the computer.
