Teaching the difference between beat and rhythm effectively in the music classroom is often challenging and confusing for students. Written as a sequel to The Tortoise and the Hare, The Story of Mr. Rhythm and Mr. Beat follows their journey as they become friends and travel together as musicians who learn the importance of beat and rhythm working together.

In addition to the illustrated story in pdf form(which can be projected or printed and stapled together into your own book), we have included an animated ebook able to be played with narration, and a noted rhythm page for your students to practice and play along during the story. We have also included a composition activity with ideas for variation that ties in to the story of Mr. Rhythm and Mr. Beat.
