Description

Move it, Move it and Learn it: MATH! is exactly what it sounds like. These four activities in the lesson plan require students to apply math skills, think critically, and get out of their seats and moving! Teachers can employ these activities as a whole, or individually, in order to enhance their students’ classroom experience. Every lesson plan aligns with grade-specific SOLs, and aims to challenge students with high energy interaction. These activities combine math class with physical education to get your students active, learning, and engaged. The activities focuses on skip counting, counting to 100, counting backwards and characteristics of basic shapes. Use this activities all together or as single activities to reinforce or review content. Integrating physical activity in with math has positive results on students ability to retain the content. Through kinesthetic learning, and engaging your students in a fun memorable activities helps your students retain the information and boosts performance. So get your students up and moving with Move it, Move it and Learn it: Math!

Activities:
100 Warm Up, Number Line Hop, Math Noodle Soup, Shape Rover.

Lesson includes: detailed instructions to activities, templates for shape rover shapes and puppy pen, all other equipment needed for activities are popular PE equipment or can be purchased at a dollar store.
