Mouse Count Interactive Retell

This is an interactive retell lesson that goes along with Ellen Stoll Walsh's book: "Mouse Count." This lesson retells the story in correct sequence on the Smart Board and includes interactive story characters. There is a sound component from the snake in the story. After the story has been retold, there is both a writing and math component to this lesson/activity. The writing element is a text to self and text to text writing slide on the Smart Board.

The math component of this lesson reinforces counting objects (mice) from one (1) to twenty (20). This may be used as a whole group math lesson or in a math center. Once again, the character of the snake uses audio and provides the answers after the students have completed their work. The students will find these lessons engaging and will captivate their attention in whole group instruction or at an individual learning center. All materials from this lesson may be printed from your computer to be used as worksheets to go along with the lesson. It is a common core aligned lesson.
