Mount Rushmore - Conspiracy Theory - Listen, Short Answer, & Paragraph
- Google Slides™
Description
Many students know the Mount Rushmore Monument, sadly, few know about the illegal and unethical treatment by President Grant against the Sioux-Lakota people who still have a legal right to the area now called Mt. Rushmore! The podcast deals responsibly with the truth and presents a balanced narrative that ultimately ranks unfounded conspiracies. My students are very intrigued by conspiracy theories! The best part is that they inadvertently learn a lot about history, assessing & explaining evidence.
You are busy, so the detailed summary I provide means that you do not have to listen to the podcast to assess student work. There are rigorous notes of relevant evidence provided. Students can work independently on this task, and it works well in school or from home.
Please message me with requests for other conspiracy topics.
