Motor Minds Intro Lesson Plan Video

This file includes 12 Canva slides, uploaded as a video, containing all the directions and activities for introducing Motor Minds, Line Man Larry and the movement activities to your students:

1. Practice directions (left, right, top, middle, bottom)

2. Introduce and practice the Movement Activities that accompany the handwriting lessons (jumping jacks, toe taps, cross crawl, marching, stomping, crab walk, bear walk, Choo-Choo Breathing and bean bag tosses)

3. Introduce and practice the Handwriting Warm-Ups that accompany the handwriting lessons (hand press, elephant ears, thumb taps, finger taps, motorcycles, spider web, crocodile, hand press, hand rub and bend/extend)

4. Introduce and practice pencil grasp for writing

Use this 7 minute video to introduce all of the motor activities that get the brain and body ready to write and ready to learn!

Students can watch the video all the way through and then re-watch as needed to practice any of the activities. The motor movements can also be used as movement breaks throughout the day!
