Do you ever have a tough student that behavioral interventions are just not working? Well, this resource is for you!
This resource was designed and tested to to help determine what is reinforcing to your student AND what is rewarding to your student. In addition to determining what motivates your student, this resource includes multiple pages with 100+ practical implementation ideas of how to motivate your Tier 2/Tier 3 student based on their motivational area!
How it works:
-Have your student complete the quick 30 question survey. You can read the questions to him/her or have the student complete it on their own.
-After the student completes the survey, use the tallying page to determine the number of times each motivational area was picked on the survey (Adult Attention, Peer Attention, Independence, Food, Prize, and Technology).
-Analyze your results! What are the top 1-3 areas the student is most motivated by? Based on your results, look at the motivational ideas handouts which includes over 100 practical ideas to reward and reinforce your student!
-Reinforcement and reward ideas are provided in the handouts for Adult Attention, Peer Attention, and Independence (power/control). Reward Ideas are provided for Food, Prize, and Technology.
-The difference between reinforcement and reward:
Reinforcement: encouraging and strengthening behavior in the moment during daily happenings.
Reward: earning a bonus, prize, or accolade in recognition of achieving a goal.
-This motivational survey is a forced-choice survey. This means that every motivational area is paired against the others, thereby naturally measuring and determining students preferences.
