As a mom and Mimi, I always loved to receive little treasures from my children on Mother’s Day. Keepsakes that I would tuck away in my drawer or special box only to find them again and again when looking for something. These treasures continue to fill my heart with beautiful memories. When you are a grandmother or Mimi, as I am called, your heart bursts with love when your grandchild gives you something created from the heart.
This “Pocket Full of Love” was created for that reason…a keepsake…a treasure to keep those memories in your heart forever!
Here is what is included and some ideas to make it your own.
- A page of pockets to be run off on colored printing paper or cardstock.
- A page of leaves to be run on different shades of green printing paper.
- A page of flowers to be run off on various colored printing paper.
- A page of creative hearts to be run off on different colored paper.
- All of these pages can be kept white and colored, too or simply mix and match!
- One page with a flower corner border to use as the background. I would definitely run this off on cardstock or heavier paper.
- Directions to create or assemble!!
Extra and Optional Materials Needed:
Scissors, glue stick, felt, foam or any kind of stickers, 8X10 canvas in place of background (optional), markers, crayons or anything else that you think your students or child would enjoy using to create this treasure.
AND don’t forget to add your creativity.
Teacher Tip: This works best with 2nd through 4th grade, but if you pre-
cut the pieces or cut strips of the materials and set it up in steps, first graders may be able to handle it. If this is done at home with mom for grandma (hint, hint) it can be a collaborative effort!
