Interactive Musical Lesson Plan: Morning Routine Mp3
This "SpeechTunes" song is a complete lesson plan.
In this lesson plan students will learn to follow basic routines and routine order appropriately; Learn organizational skills (use checklists); Practice social skills (appropriate social and public behavior); Improve life skills (independent hygiene and personal appearance; Learn school readiness routines; and Learn personal responsibility.
Best used in large group environments for targeting expressive and receptive language, speaking and listening, functional communication, social and pragmatic language, life skills, and verbal and non-verbal communication and expression.
The song provides multiple opportunities for students to respond to a check list of routine tasks and behaviors. Once the students become familiar with the song and its checklist of routine tasks, teachers can introduce the “Morning Routine Checklist” as a visual to follow and begin checking off tasks completed. This can be done during group discussion or individually. The student can also check off the routine tasks throughout the song or give thumbs up or down when prompted to answer. Be creative and flexible and have fun with it!
Designed for targeting IEP goals for Autism / Special Ed grades PK – 3rd; and for Gen Ed. Common Core (CCSS) PK - 1st grade.
