Montessori Parts of a Trumpet - 3 Part Cards
- PDF
Description
Montessori 3 part (or "nomenclature") cards are used to teach a child the names of the various parts of something, in this case a trumpet. There are three cards for each part, a control card which has both the picture and the label, a card with only the picture and a card with only the label. The child’s job is to match the cards, (you can find more detailed instructions on how to give a 3 part card lesson when you search online). He learns the vocabulary of each part as he does this. Each part is isolated on its card by being colored in while everything else is left black and white. This takes away any and all distractions from learning the specific part as it is isolated.
Included parts are: trumpet, bell, lead pipe, tuning slide, mouth piece, mouth piece receiver, valves, valve casings, valve slides, finger grips, water key.
Additional cards are included for greater detail: first valve, first valve casing, first valve slide, second valve, second valve casing, second valve slide, third valve, third valve casing, third valve slide, water keys
This product includes the complete set of colored cards in both a black border and a red border (which coincides with all of the brass instruments in Diana Zegers' Music Education curriculum that can be found in our store.)
The cards are ready to print. Select which options you want and print them on cardstock. You can then cut them out and laminate them and you are ready to go!
Also included, the last page of this document is a master page with 'blank' trumpets. You can copy as many as you need to let the kids make their own "Parts of a Trumpet" book.
