Description
This interactive Mock Congress simulation is a great way to bring the bill-to-law process to life! The resource includes TWO Mock Congress options- one that uses the traditional Congressional setting and parties and one that uses your school campus as the backdrop and places staff/faculty and students as the opposing parties. The simulation can be concentrated into 2-3 days or spread out if desired. Both versions come with in-depth teacher instructions to guide the simulation and a Mock Congress Power Point/Google Slides™ presentation that includes: step-by-step instructions, warm-ups and debrief questions, and templates for students group assignments. The folder also includes a bill proposal template, name tents that identify each student's party affiliation, an exit ticket, and my Bill-to-Law Flowchart.
I have included several details in this simulation to reinforce important Legislative Branch concepts such as: The Bill-to-Law Process, Divided Government, Majority and Minority Leaders, Standing Committees, Committee Chairs, Conference Committees, and More!
