Description

Looking for a fun way to teach theme or do SBAC Prep? You're welcome! (See what I did there?)

This product includes a study guide for the film "Moana" AND an SBAC-Style performance task related to the theme of the story.

The study guide is Common Core aligned for 7th grade ELA standards (though, due to the spiraling of the standards, it would work well for any middle school grade).

The Performance Task is modeled after the SBAC tasks. This will help students get comfortable with the format/wording seen on the SBAC. The essay is about the theme of the story. There is also a graphic organizer for students to use to help them plan their essay. This could be used as an assessment, or you may choose to guide your students through the process as practice.
