Description
This bundle includes three resources to add to your Misplaced and Dangling Modifiers unit!
Resource 1: Misplaced and Dangling Modifiers Task Cards
I designed this resource as a review for my students during our misplaced and dangling modifiers unit. As students answer the task cards, they are given letters to plug into a puzzle. When they finish all the task cards, the puzzle will give them a well-known quote! If deciphering the quote will be too overwhelming for some of your students, I have included another copy of the task cards that only require students to record either an A or B for their answers.
Task card Set #1: A mix of dangling and misplaced modifier questions and rewriting sentences correctly (You can choose to leave this part out if needed). Students answer each task card on the task card answer sheet. If students answer all of the questions correctly, the answers will spell a quote. (pages 2-13)
Task card set #2: These task cards are exactly like the first set, but do not require students to record different letters for the answers to create a quote. Answers are only “A” or “B” to make it simpler. An answer sheet is also included with this set of task cards. (pages 14-23)

Resource #4: Misplaced and Dangling Modifiers Sor
I created this resource as a hands-on way for students to practice identifying and classifying misplaced and dangling modifiers. In this activity, students will sort 24 sentences into the correct category (misplaced modifier, dangling modifier, correct).
1.Print the headers and sorting pieces on colored paper or cardstock.
2.Cut out the headers and sorting pieces.
3.Laminate the pieces before using so that you can use them from year to year.
4.Mix up the sorting pieces and have students lay them under the correct header (misplaced modifier, dangling modifier, correct).
This activity works great for small groups, partners, or individual work. You can easily check answers using the answer key provided. You can also have student's self check their answers or have a partner check them.
Resource #5: Google Slides Misplaced and Dangling Modifier Practice
I designed this resource for my students to practice misplaced and dangling modifiers in a more interactive way! Students will work their way through a variety of slides (22 total slides) that require them to do the following:
Identify sentences as containing a misplaced modifier or correct. (10 sentences)
Identify sentences as containing a dangling modifier or correct. (10 sentences)
Rewrite sentences containing a misplaced or dangling modifier correctly. (10 sentences)
Students drag and drop pieces to label sentences and underline modifiers. They also type directly on the slides to rewrite the sentences. **Your students will need access to Google Drive to use this resource.
I love projecting this slideshow on the board and working through the some of the sentences together and then reviewing the answers after students have finished. Teacher answer key is included.
