What educators are saying

These drills are used everyday in my classroom at the beginning of class. Students can earn easy points for completing this worksheet.
Needed to put together some short math minutes for my Grade Ones and this fit the bill admirably. It helped me out of a bind.

Description

What is 5-minute math?

Minute Math Drills, or Math Mad Minutes as they are known to many teachers, are worksheets with simple drill-and-practice basic facts math problems.  Students are given a short period of time (usually three minutes or so) to complete as many problems as they can.  When done on a regular basis, these timed worksheets will help students improve speed and accuracy with basic adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division facts.

Instructions:

A 5-minute drill is a worksheet with all of the single digit problems for one operation on one page. A student who has memorized all of the single digit addition problems should be able to work out all of the problems correctly in 5 minutes. Initially, instead of expecting your child to complete the whole page, have your students complete 25 problems and then move up to 50 problems and so on.
