Mini-Guide for Middlers: The Hidden Treasure of Glaston Interactive

This is a mini-guide (a two-week literature study) for the book titled The Hidden Treasure of Glaston, by Eleanore M. Jewett. In this book, Hugh is involved in a hunt for treasure in 12th century England.

The guide contains:

• vocabulary activities
• discussion questions
• reading activities -- Students will: identify a plant, predict, work on puzzle pieces, read background information, create a list, add words to a synonym star, explain why a word is effective, review a prediction, and think critically. Students will learn about: plants, alliteration, sarcasm, metaphor, personification, theme, and sub-theme.

• life applications/Bible

• a crossword puzzle
• questions and activities that can be used as assessments
• an answer key

This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete the fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the options:

1) Reproducibles -- they contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities:

b) An Answer Key is not provided for the reproducibles; the answers for the activities on the reproducibles are found at the end of the mini-guide.
