Description

This activity has students brainstorm solutions to five problems that plagued Ming China after the expulsion of the Mongols within the context of the Zheng He treasure fleet expeditions. These expeditions were successful, but also very expensive. The Emperor Zhu Di must hake a decision about whether to continue these voyages or fix other issues with China, and each student must take a position and justify which route the Emperor should take. It's very fun, works in groups of four, and the students are super engaged during it!
