Description

This zip file contains materials for middle school science lessons on the characteristics of rocks and minerals (luster, hardness, streak, fracture vs. cleavage) as part of an Earth science unit. The unit was designed for 7th graders in NYC.

Includes:

-3 SMARTboard .notebook lesson presentations, in one file (32 slides). Includes 2 part mineral identification lab with optional 3rd day to practice using reference tables to identify minerals.
-Mineral identification lab sheets and reference table.
-2 homework assignments.

Presentations serve as lesson plans that guide the teacher through the entire lesson. Presentation includes links to related YouTube videos to increase student engagement.

'Ask a question' if you need a PowerPoint file instead and I can probably re-upload an adjusted file.
