Description

This resource provides an in-depth look at Miles Morales: Spider-Man by Jason Reynolds. Great resource for grades 5-9 Grade! This novel study is perfect for whole class, independent, or reading circles. Each activity can be completed independently, in pairs, or in a group setting. Pick and choose which activities work best for your time frame and needs. There are a variety of activities that can be used at any level of learning including short answer, true-false, multiple choice, journal prompts, and three essay prompts.

This unit also includes a copy of all the activities for Google Digital Slides. Perfect for Distance Learning!

This Novel Study includes:

1. Miles Morales Chapter Quizzes: There are a total of 9 chapter quizzes that provide great feedback for student comprehension and understanding of the chapter. 5 true/false and 5 multiple choice questions are provided for each quiz. Also included are the chapter quizzes formatted for Google Forms! Answer key provided

2. Miles Morales Short Answer Questions: Each set of grouped chapters has 4 short answer questions for students to respond to. This provides them the opportunity to critically look at the text and provide evidence to support their answers. There are a total of 9 question pages. Answer key provided

3. Miles Morales Context Clue Vocabulary Questions: There are 11-15 context clue vocabulary questions for each set of grouped chapters. Students will use the context from the sentence and chapter to determine the meaning of the words. Answer key provided

4. Miles Morales Writing Responses: Each prompt asks students to respond critically with predictions, ideas, and opinions regarding the chapters. There are 7 total writing prompts.

5. Miles Morales Figurative Language Reviews: Each set of grouped chapters has 16-26 figurative language questions. Students must determine what type of figurative language it is and an explanation. Answer key provided

6. Miles Morales Sijo Poetry Activity: There is an additional Sijo Poetry Analysis Activity provided to give students practice at looking critically at some of the poems in the novel. Since silo poetry is such a prominent part of the book, this activity is a great way to review a different type of poetry with students. Answer key provided

6. Miles Morales Character Trait Activities: There are 3 character trait activities. Students will match character traits to characters from the text and then explain their decision.

7. Miles Morales Internal + External Conflict Activity: Students will be able to easily review Internal and External Conflict with this easy to use worksheet. It is also a great way to have students review major plot points within the novel.

8. Miles Morales Essay Prompts: There are three Essay Prompts with graphic organizers available to have students practice the Common Core Writing Standards. There is a Narrative, Explanatory, and Argumentative Writing prompt.

9. Miles Morales Digital: All resources are included for Google Slides. Also included are the chapter quizzes formatted for Google Forms!
