    Description

Are you looking for a meaningful activity that will not only let your students have fun and show their creativity, but also requires them to conduct research and think critically? This bundle currently contains 17 seasonal mini-research projects. Each project contains over 30 pages on instructional materials that will help guide teachers and students through this activity.

Students will LOVE that they get to learn more about an influential person or important topic and get to create a small project instead of writing an essay. Teachers will LOVE that they have a resource that requires little prep and includes EDITABLE templates that allow them to create their own directions, project requirements, and add their own images. Another bonus for teachers is that this product contains a detailed rubric, strong and weak teacher models as well as pictures of the project in action, and a list of suggested websites that students can use for research.

The following topics are currently included in this bundle:

    1. Black History Month

    2. Women's History Month

    3. Growth Mindset

    4. Anti-Bullying

    5. Banned Books Week

    6. Summer Vacation Debate

    7. Arab American Heritage Month

    8. AAPI Heritage Month

    9. Native American Heritage Month

    10. Hispanic Heritage Month

    Each project includes the following:

Research Handouts: The research handouts contain the assignment, a suggested list of websites that students can use to research, and a short brainstorming activity that is designed to help students decide who they want to research. After students have selected their person or topic, they will create a list of 5-6 self-generated questions that they have that will help guide them during their research. There is also space for them to record the information that they find about the person or topic.

Grading Rubric: There are two versions of a detailed rubric that can be used to grade this project. The rubric focuses on these four attributes: focus/purpose, content, organization, and presentation/appearance of banner. One rubric contains a point value assigned to each column and the other rubric does not assign a point value. This allows you to determine how much each part of the project is weighted.

Pre-designed and EDITABLE templates with DIRECTIONS: Banners offer you a variety of options for this project and ways that you can customize the requirements for the banner to better fit the needs of your students.

•••(EDITABLE means that you can add text or images to the templates in PP.)•••

Pre-designed and EDITABLE templates WITHOUT DIRECTIONS: Banners offer you a variety of options for this project and ways that you can customize the requirements for the banner to better fit the needs of your students.

•••(EDITABLE means that you can add text or images to the templates in PP. In addition, you can add your own directions for the banners to better suit the needs of your classroom)•••

Teacher Models: Strong and Weak Samples are included so that students can see what the expectations are and can self-assess their own project.
