What educators are saying

This was so easy to throw in place for a substitute! Thanks for helping create something so seamless to make missing school less stressful.
I was out for an unexpected period of time and this resource really saved me time and kept me organized.

Description

These 100% editable and digital middle school ELA sub plans include all the information you need to fill out once and re-use over and over again any time you have a sub.

Never stress about sub plans again. Fill out the editable PowerPoint or Google Slides sub plans at the beginning of the year and leave any short text to accompany them. I have included three close reading passages to get you started!

No more stressing about trying to have a sub teach a lesson that would take forever to type out or leaving some plans that cause chaos in the classroom. These plans are ELA-focused, include everything you and the sub need, and are truly fill-out-once and you're set for the year.

The following 100% editable and digital sections are included in this file:

  1. Sub Plans Important Information
  2. Daily Schedule
  3. Classroom Management
  4. Teaching Overview and Philosophy of Teaching (Classroom Management)
  5. Short-Term One-Day Plans (6th Grade ELA)
  6. Short-Term One-Day Plans (7th Grade ELA)
  7. Short-Term One-Day Plans (8th Grade ELA)
  8. Three Close Reading Passages, Questions, and Answer Keys

These stress-free sub plans have you fill in your information at the start of the year. I've left my information in to give you ideas, or you can delete it all and start from scratch. Then after you fill out the original sub information and lesson plans your sub plans are done for the year.

You will simply need to print the sub plans or give access to the digital version and provide a short text that has accompanying questions for students to answer. You will only have to find a close reading passage or short text each time you need sub plans and I've included the first three to get you started.

The Close Reading Passages are:

  1. Al Capone Close Reading Passage and Answer Keys
  2. Anne Franke Close Reading Passage and Answer Keys
  3. Too Sweet? Close Reading Passage and Answer Keys

TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kelly W. says, "These were wonderful sub plans. They were truly print and go. Upon my return to school, we were also able to have interesting discussions about the topics. Thank you!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Emily G. says, "So easy to print and leave for a sub. Students were able to complete independently with little help from the sub. Didn't use them all for the sub, so I will definitely be using them in class."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jeannie L. says, "I felt so great leaving this for work with a substitute. I didn't feel like it was just "busy" work. The sub said that the students were quiet and engaged while working on this, which is always a GREAT thing! Thank you for a great resource!!!!"
