Middle School Catholic Apologetics RE Course

Apologetics is the process of giving a reasoned explanation for our faith. This 24
class course, designed for 45 minute periods, introduces common questions about Catholicism and teaches middle school and junior high students how to answer them effectively with both kindness and reverence. Ideal for use as a a supplement to a religion class, an after school religious education class, or as an elective.

Details:

• Includes syllabus, 24 lessons in presentation form, and a small number of other resources.
• The presentations (Google Slides) were created with a beautiful template from Slides Go. Please keep the "Credits" slide in each of the presentations.
• Each class is structured around one central question; some lessons include related questions as well. Students create notecards based on brief lectures, then explore the linked references for more information. Then, students are randomly paired to practice asking and answering the Questions of the Day. (Search for "random group generator" for tools to accomplish this easily.)
• Each presentation includes one or more slides with links to supporting material, including videos and materials from Catholic Answers, Ascension Presents, USCCB, the Vatican, and others. All links were live at the time of posting, but links may become inactive at any time. Please check to be sure the links are still live for your classes.
• There are exactly three (3) PDF files included as References in presentations #1 and #21. You will need to add in the hyperlinks to the PDF files once you have uploaded them to your system. The text for these hyperlinks is highlighted and the Speaker Notes remind you to add these links.
• You will be getting a copy of all the resources, so everything is fully editable.
