Mexico Themed Activities for Math, Literacy, Geography, Fine and Gross Motors

Help your students discover the culture of Mexico with a variety of Mexico themed activities ideal for centers, small group activities, or for individual practice. These activities are great to use during Hispanic Heritage Month, Cinco de Mayo, the Olympics and with around the world units.

This bundle includes math, phonics, geography, fine and gross motor activities to enrich your study of Mexico and is best suited for Pre-K and Kindergarten.

Math Activities Included:

• Mexico Themed Math Activities Overview - An explanation of how to use each activity.
• 3 Sets of Task Cards for Solve the Room Activities (Color & B&W) - Solve the Room activities are a great way to get your students moving and make math a little more exciting. Just place the task cards around the room for your students to find and they write their answers on their answer sheet. No room to walk around? No problem! Have your students pass the task cards around to each other or set up a center.
  • 2 levels of recording sheets are included for each set of task cards, circle the answer or write the answer. Choose the difficulty that best fits your students.
  • Answer sheets are also included.

• Counting On Worksheets (B&W) - Print and go worksheet to practice counting and writing numbers 1-10 and 11-20.
• Roll & Cover (Color & B&W) - Roll the dice and cover the number you rolled or use the black and white pages for students to color the number they rolled.
• Number Puzzles (Color & B&W) - Put the puzzles together in numerical order.
• Roll & Graph (Color & B&W) - Roll the dice a set number of times. Each time graphing what picture was rolled.

Literacy Activities Included:

• Mexico Themed Phonics Activities Overview - An explanation of how to use each activity.
• Task Cards for Write the Room Activities (Color & B&W) - Place the set of short vowel task cards you are working on around the room or at a center. There are 3 levels of recording sheets to choose from:
  • Write in the beginning sound.
  • Trace the word.
  • Write the word.

Choose which recording sheet to use with your students and have them find
the task cards and write the letter or word in the correct box.

Task cards and recording sheets included for the following word families:

  • one set of sight word task cards are also included

• Reading Adventure Sight Word Game (Color & B&W) - Roll the dice and move the number of your roll. If you can read the word you land on stay there, if not go back.
• Reading Adventure CVC Word Game (Color & B&W) - Draw a card, read the word and place your token on the matching word. Whoever is in the lead when all the cards are gone wins.
• Color-by-Sight-Word (Color & B&W) - Like color by number but with sight words instead.
• CVC Worksheets (B&W) - Color and cut out the pictures. Paste them on the tacos with the matching word.
• Read, Build, & Write (Color & B&W) - Read the word, build the word, write the word.

Geography Activities Included:

• Mexico Geography Activities Overview - An explanation of how to use each activity.
• Mexico Fact Cards (Color) - Each card has a photo and a brief fact about Mexico. You can print them twice and make 3-Part Cards too.
• Animals Native to Mexico Fact Cards (Color) - Each card has a photo and a brief fact about an animal native to Mexico. You can print them twice and make 3-Part Cards too. Animal fact cards are great way to learn about animals and give your students a visual of what the animal actually looks like.
• Close-up Pictures of Fact Cards (Color) - Students will need to look closely at the animals or pictures from the Mexico fact cards to match them to the zoomed in picture of the same picture.
• Map of Mexico (B&W) - Color the map of Mexico.
• Draw & Tell (B&W) - Draw something you want to remember from Mexico and write about it.
• Travel the Room - Mexico (Scavenger Hunt) (Color) - Place the picture cards randomly around the room. Give students the scavenger hunt worksheet and have them find the matching pictures and write the letter from the picture card on the same picture as their worksheet.

Fine & Gross Motor Included:
