Metallic Bow Christmas Art Lesson Using Layered Colored Pencil

This Christmas/Holiday themed art drawing lesson will keep your middle school boys and girls ENGAGED during this exciting time of year. Students have 3 options to draw the bow: use the step by step handout included in this lesson, use transfer method to draw bow using provided bow photos or draw bow from observation using provided bow reference photos. Students will learn how to create a 3D bow using layered colored pencils to create highlights, shadows and mid tones. Students will learn how to blend colored pencils with a colorless blender (white colored pencil also works) for a smooth metallic looking finish. The PowerPoint and PDF slides include: vocabulary, objectives, standards, step by step instructions with images, printable rubric, reflection questions and YouTube video art tutorial and demonstration.
