Description
A STEM Challenge that combines the holidays, history, and math! The Merry Gumdrop Tree STEM challenge looks at the history of Christmas trees and how 3D shapes are represented in them. Learners take a look at different 3D shapes and decide which will produce a prototype that is the tallest, free-standing, and most stable. The Google Slide Show will walk you and your learners through the activity, including a historical video about Christmas trees. Slide show also has timer with music, materials slide, and reflection questions. Be sure to pick up the free STEM Notebook paper from my shop to use with this challenge!
