Description

Teach and assess your media literacy unit with this project and rubric package while integrating it into your Oral Language, Math and Healthy Eating curriculum. This media literacy unit is perfect for Grade 1, Grade 2 or Grade 3. Using media literacy skills, students will design a cereal box front and then create a game on the back using skills learned during the probability mini-unit. In the end, students can present their finished product, and you can assess it using the provided rubrics.

This Media Literacy unit teaches students about the following media elements:

⭐target audience

⭐media elements such as the use of color/text and graphics

⭐marketing techniques to reach a target audience (namely children)

This unit also integrates Oral Language and Math (Probability) expectations. A whole new component has been added to include designing a game board for the back of the cereal box.
