Description

FREE Hands-on activity aligned with 2.MD.1 and 2.MD.9

This set contains 3 different measurement sheets with 10 or more objects.

The recording sheet is 2 sided (needs to be printed front - to - back). Students will choose 8 of the items on their measurement sheet to measure in centimeters. Then they will plot those data points on their line plot. The back side of the sheet has students come up with different questions they could pose to their classmates that could be answered from their line plot data, as well as a question of how line plots are useful.

I created this for my own students, and I hope you can use it for yours! Enjoy! This can be used as a formative assessment, homework, or classwork!

Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools such as rulers, yardsticks, meter sticks, and measuring tapes.
Generate measurement data by measuring lengths of several objects to the nearest whole unit, or by making repeated measurements of the same object. Show the measurements by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in whole-number units.
