Mayflower: The Voyage of the Pilgrims (Reader's Theater Script-Story)

This 40-minute Reader's Theater script-story re-tells the harrowing story of the Pilgrims' journey from Europe to the New World and the triumph of the First Thanksgiving. Based on Bradford's own journal and various other historical sources, this script-story will bring history alive for your students. The script has 12 speaking parts, and characters include William Bradford, King James, and Squanto. Based completely on non-fiction pieces, this script would make a great addition to any American Literature or early American history unit. The script-story also includes a 2-page teacher guide including relevant background information, script summary, recall questions, connections, teachable terms, and discussion questions.
