    Description

Students will have the fun opportunity to select a project from four options to demonstrate their learning of the Maya, Aztecs, and Incas. These creative, print and go projects are a sure way to increase student engagement, keep them motivated, and practice critical thinking and writing skills. Each project contains step-by-step directions that are broken into manageable chunks that make the project requirements accessible to all students. Plus, each project comes with a detailed rubric to make grading quick and easy as well as planning guides and/or templates. These projects are also wonderful to display at Open Houses and decorate your classroom with!

    Project #1 – Board Game
This board game project is a fun and creative way for students to demonstrate their understanding of the Maya, Aztecs, and Incas. Students will be asked to create the rules and directions for their game, all required pieces, and a colorful and detailed board game. The resource includes directions, requirements, a rubric, and many templates including game boards, game cards, spinners, game pieces, dice, and game money.

Here's what my happy customers are saying about the Board Game resource:
"My students loved this creative way to review and share with each other what they learned about this topic."
"The project was very beneficial for students who are creative and allowed for differentiation for students who were not artistic or creative. I would highly recommend this project to break up the standard classroom routine and give the students a chance to express their creativity."

    Project #2 – Festival Brochure
This fun and creative project focusing on Maya Aztec and Inca achievements, is a great way for students to showcase their understanding. Students will assume the role of an event planner to plan a festival inspired by these achievements. Students will create a festival brochure and are provided with an explanation of requirements, a list of topics, a rubric for quick and easy grading, and four brochure templates.

Here’s what my happy customers are saying about this Brochure resource:
"Great product!  Easy to use..print and go!  Great extend or enrichment project!"
"My students enjoyed this resource. Thank you for putting it together!”

    Project #3 – Timeline
This Maya Aztec Inca Timeline project is the perfect task to explore the major events of these ancient civilizations. Timelines are a valuable tool allowing students to visualize the events in a given period in history. There are two versions of the Mayan Aztec and Incan timeline project included in this resource. The first version is for 5th and 6th graders and features 12 events for students. The second version is suited to 7th and 8th graders and contains 17 events. Each version includes the main events complete with dates and a description of the event, and a template on which students place their ordered events. A rubric and extension questions are included as well.

Here's what my happy customers are saying about the Timeline resource:

"This product is what I have come to expect from you - a product that is ready to use and well thought out. Thanks for saving me time and giving me exactly what I need to support my students learning of timelines!"
"Thank you so much for creating a resource that my students will utilize this year to help them understand timelines and the importance of them."

    Project #4– Talk Show
Students are asked to work in groups of four to first research, prepare and present their own talk show. Their talk show will include a host, who will ask the deep and engaging questions, and three guests who will answer in an interesting and detailed way. The three guests interviewed will be King Pakal the Great (of the Mayan civilization), Emperor Montezuma (an Aztec), and Emperor Atahualpa (an Incan). Students are provided with sample questions to guide the host along with a planning guide, an assessment rubric and an editing checklist.

Here's what my happy customers are saying about the Talk Show resource:

“This project worked really well for students who don't do well with a standard test but know their information and being able to share that information out. This project allowed my students to work as a team but I was able to individualize the project to fit the needs of every student.”

"My 6th graders loved this project and got really creative with props and costumes."
