Math Facts Club (motivational fact fluency system)

The Math Facts Club is an easy-to-implement motivational fact fluency program that is perfect for back-to-school when you're ready to try something new. If you're like me, your students are not all stellar studs when it comes to math facts.

Are your 3rd, 4th or 5th graders in desperate need of developing their math fact fluency in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division? Do they cringe every time you say "you need to memorize your math facts"? Well, the Math Facts Club may be the answer to your prayers since it provides kids with a motivational and visual system of tracking their progress.

This is an easy-to-implement fact fluency system that I have developed and used to build automaticity with arithmetic. The Math Facts Club takes only 5 minutes a week to implement, and the great thing about it, if you have access to the computer lab - there's no grading involved for you as the teacher!

Students move their way up the Math Facts Clip Chart, everyone starts off at addition. Once they have passed their grade level proficiency benchmark, then they are allowed to test out of the other operations: subtraction, multiplication, and then division. The goal is to make it to the top of the clip chart which is the MATH FACTS CLUB!

Not only will you see a student increase in practicing math facts outside of school, you'll see a great boost in student confidence when tackling more complex problems since they're not feeling defeated by the basic computation anymore. It's a win-win!
