Students struggling with numerical fluency and word problems? I created these year long math warm ups to help improve their skills. These warm ups are No prep just display on your board and done!
I noticed my third graders need constant numerical fluency practice (+,-,x,÷) and exposure to word problems to be successful mathematicians so I created these kid-friendly, seasonal math warm ups.
What's included: August-June warm up slides. Each month comes with 25 warm up slides and 5 editable slides per month. That is a total of 275 math warm ups and 55 editable slides to best meet all of your kiddos' needs!
Monthly focus:
August: Addition/subtraction with and without regrouping word problems & fluency
September: Addition/Subtraction with regrouping word problems & fluency
October: Multiplication word problems & fluency
November: Division word problems & fluency
December: 1 step all operations ( +,-,x,÷) word problems & fluency
January: 2 step (+,-) word problems & fluency
February: 2 step (x/÷) word problems & fluency

How to use: Every morning I display the powerpoint on my smart board. I give my students 5 minutes to solve the warm up independently in their math notebooks . We then check the warm up in whole group and share different strategies we used to solve.
Purpose: The goal is for students to improve on their math fluency and word problem comprehension. Two super important skills kiddos must master to be successful mathematicians and be well prepared for the state test.
