What educators are saying

I have used this activity with many RTI math intervention students in middle school. It is engaging and challenging! I love it and the students do, too.
My students loved making these clocks! We used real clock parts and they had awesome clocks to take home and use:)

Description

*Editable* This is a really fun engaging project for students where they create their own math clock including a variety of equations and expressions from math!

I use this project usually at the end of the year after testing is over since it takes so long to complete. It could also be done ongoing throughout the year. I have done this project 3 years in a row now and the students really get excited about it! It is really challenging and engaging for students. (Especially if you let them work with a partner to create equations, or have them cross check)

This project incorporates the following math concepts (Following TEKS)
Order of Operations with whole numbers
Order of Operations with integers
6th One-Step Equations (7th Two-Step Equations including rational or integers)
Rational Operations
Proportions (7th integers or rational)

Included in this purchase is:
1 Two Rubrics (One for 6th Academic, One for 6th Pre-AP)
2 Powerpoint presentation with directions for students getting started on project (With example pictures)
3 Student page where they can organize their work, and you can easily grade their problems
4 Expressions/Equations- A bank of questions from each category on the rubric for struggling students who need help creating problems. (I used this with my really low students, or students who were absent for most of the project)
5 Clock Outline- An outline of a clock with 12 spots for students to write problems. This can be their final product, or just be used as a rough draft.
6 Teacher Directions- Table of Contents and more in depth directions on how to implement the project.
