How does this work?
Your download will come with 4 files: student activity sheets, teacher lesson plans, an informational PowerPoint, and Google™ links. Simply print, gather your materials, and GO! No need to look for extra activities, or write out your lesson plans.
Lessons Included:
Reading: 4 activity sheets that focus on comprehension, quoting, and finding evidence. The comprehension questions can be used as an informal or formal assessment if you wish! You can preview the comprehension questions as a FREEBIE at this link!
Math: 6 "carousel style" centers and a student recording sheet. Each station focuses on a big event in MLK, Jr.'s life and assigns coinciding math tasks. Skills include addition, subtraction, measurement, time, word problems, and more. Skill levels vary in the 3rd-5th grade range.
Writing: Your students will "take a stand" did and write a persuasive argument. A planning template and 2 versions of writing paper are included.
Science: Complete a disappearing color science experiment as a class and fill out a scientific method activity sheet. Then, spend time with valuable discussion questions centering on the metaphor of "disappearing color" and MLK, Jr.'s work.
Social Studies: Civil Rights Movement PowerPoint + scaffolded notes. There are also assessment questions provided at the end of the PowerPoint and activity sheets.
