This Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. themed writing activity is perfect for celebrating MLK Day. Students read and discuss an excerpt from King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech, then respond to the following prompts in writing:
- What is your dream for the future?
- What can you do to help make your dream come true?
Students color and assemble the activity so that the speech hangs below the background poster and opens up to reveal their own writing. These make a great bulletin board or hallway display to celebrate Martin Luther King Day. This activity also provides a powerful opportunity for students to practice putting their thoughts into writing while learning about an important part of our countries history.
