Description

This Martin Luther King Jr. Day-inspired opinion writing project lets students explore their opinions on how they believe they can make a difference in the world. This project makes for a great writing assignment during January and February when Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month are celebrated.

Included are a decorative printable banner (to easily make a bulletin board showcasing student work), MLK informational article, opinion writing prompts, classroom writing prompt poster, a bubble map brainstorming organizer, multiple guided rough draft organizers, an editing checklist for you or your kiddos, two different final draft pages, and a scoring rubric for easy grading. In addition to being a great ready-to-go resource for opinion writing, this activity makes for an easy way to keep students engaged by using their creativity as base for their writing.
