What educators are saying

This was a great resource to teach MLK history to my students. They found it very engaging and enjoyed learning why MLK Jr. is a historical hero. Thank you!

Description

Our communities, our schools are amazingly diverse places. People of different ethnicities, cultures, religions, jobs, traditions. These aren't just "people" they are our students and their families! Celebratory months (like Women's History Month, Black History Month) allow us to shine a special light on specific groups of people who have positively impacted our world. We don't relegate these people to a single month, but we do take the extra time and energy to make sure we are telling the fullest, most accurate story of real people doing extraordinary things. Because - are students and their families are real people capable of extraordinary change.

This mini-unit includes literacy and social-studies activities ideal for Primary Classrooms (K-2).
