What educators are saying

Great way to learn about Marbury v. Madision in regards to major takeaways and the legality of the issue.
I lectured first on this time period and used this activity to spotlight/highlight this trial. It was a great way to hit the major points without being so detailed that kids lost interest or felt overwhelmed.

Description

Marbury v. Madison & Judicial Review Analysis takes students back to the landmark decision that established Judicial Review. From background of the case, and the Midnight Judges to its decision, and even criticism from Thomas Jefferson. Students meet all the key players, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Marshall, and William Marbury.

This can be used in class or as homework as it’s a completely stand alone assignment. This is also perfect for substitute teacher plans, and of course, a key is included.
