What educators are saying
This project is turning out to be one of my favorite activities for the entire curriculum. I love this idea. I did alter it a bit to fit my class needs but still, a great foundation. Love this idea!

Description
This project requires students to create their own map of the journey Tubman and the 11 fugitives made from Maryland to Canada in December, 1851. The journey is described in Ann Petry's biography, Harriet Tubman: Conductor on the Underground Railroad. I do have this section of the text listed as During Reading if interested. The map is made on an online map making site and the project rubric is included. If interested in other assignments for this text, check out my During Reading and Vocabulary listings.
