This is a great 3 day lesson of interactive Google Slides for students!
Day 1 focuses on the Lewis and Clark Expedition, using primary sources to teach students about the expedition.
Day 2 focuses on the Presidency of Andrew Jackson and his policies towards Native Americans. This lesson focuses on Native American removal in the 1830’s and the Trail of Tears.
Day 3 provides a more in-depth understanding around the different perspectives around Manifest Destiny. Students will analyze and record information about the painting titled American Progress by John Gast in 1872 and the painting titled Indigenous American Progress, by Charles Hilliard in 2021.
