    Description

This central idea and supporting details bundle includes 4 nonfiction reading comprehension lessons designed to help middle school ELA students determine the central idea in a nonfiction text. Each central idea or main idea lesson includes scaffolded close reading activities, main idea graphic organizers, PowerPoint presentations, and more. You will receive these lessons in both print and digital format making it easier to implement during distance learning or in-person classes.

Students will love reading a nonfiction article that centers around a relevant and high-interest topic! Not to mention that this lesson gives students several opportunities to collaborate with their classmates in a verbal and digital format.

Students will use a double-column notes organizer to help them tackle the nonfiction article, which is chunked into four different sections. Each section includes a separate subheading that students will use to create a question and then closely read that section of text to find evidence to answer their self-generated question.
