Description

Struggling with making main idea and details relevant to your students' lives? Try out this fun, hands-on main idea and detail activity that involves bags and real-world artifacts you can find around your own house.

This main idea and detail activity is perfect to help introduce the skill, review, or simply practice understanding what main idea and detail is all about! It can be done as a center, small group activity, or whole group mini-lesson!

The materials included in this activity are:

  • lesson plans for teachers
  • example paragraph
  • printable cards for the brown bags
  • instruction sheet for students.

Two extension activities are also included!

*You will need the brown bags and materials for inside them. I have also put suggestions for the bags in the lesson plan, but please feel free to come up with your own!*
