MLA Citations - Works Cited Cheat Sheet for Students Editable 9th Ed

A quick and easy reminder of how to write in-text and works cited citations. This editable handout covers the basics in a simplified way. It is not meant as a replacement for using a handbook, but an easy-to-copy resource students can keep in their notebooks or folders.

This handout simplifies the hardest part for students: documenting their sources.

Common Core State Standards: The CCSS require students to cite sources. This will be a helpful aid! I require MLA documentation, so the focus of this handout is solely MLA. It breaks down the parenthetical (in-text) citations and works cited process using three examples: one from a book, one from a periodical, and one from an internet source. It is in clear, easy to follow steps, with a visual example of each step.

It's EDITABLE, so you can customize it with your own examples and students' names.

It helps you instruct them on how to use signal phrases, paraphrase, and use parenthetical citations. After they have practiced the skills and are ready to type, you can give them this cheat sheet as a reminder of what they've learned.
