Lucky & Lexani Learn About U.S. Symbols

LEARNING GOAL/OBJECTIVE: American students aren’t well known for their grasp of historical knowledge.

One way to correct this is to make it more enjoyable to learn.

To help students at home or in school enjoy learning about American history I’ve written this fun little story about a leprechaun brother and sister from Ireland coming to this country and learning symbols and individuals that represent the United States.

ON-GRADE LEVEL: 1st & 2nd-Grade

BELOW-GRADE LEVEL/RETEACHING/REINFORCEMENT: 3-5
ABOVE-GRADE LEVEL/ENRICHMENT: Kindergarten

ACTIVITY: Read this story with your child at home or with your students in whole group or small groups at school in a way that works best for your style of parenting/teaching.

TIME: One-two class periods, depending on how deeply you want your student or child to understand these standards.

MATERIALS: No prep is needed other than to print off the copies you need of this fun short story.

RESOURCE/TEXT: No text is necessary.
