Description

The Polk Street kids visit the White House! This 11 page document includes a title page, teaching suggestions, a mini 8 page booklet (made from 4 pages copied back to back and stapled), an answer key, and a credits page to use with the book “Look Out, Washington, D.C.!”
The first page of the booklet invites the child to share what they already know about Washington and the last page is a mini-research project to extend the study. Students will choose a building in Washington, D.C and write several facts about it in their own words.
The 8 pages to be copied for each child can be copied without color ink. (My school is probably like yours… stingy with color ink due to lack of funds.) If you are also interested in “Next Stop, New York City!” look for my unit “Polk Street Kids on Tour” which combines both units for a reduced price.
