What educators are saying

Another great resource for teaching story elements using videos. The assignment is highly engaging and helps walk the students through the writing process. Both digital and print options are available.
My students loved this. Each film had a very comprehensive and lengthy analysis of the themes and ideas present in the film. I have many of these to fit perfectly in my unit.

Pixar shorts are perfect for teaching inference because they are silent. Therefore, students must infer meanings that are represented by images. These workshops have the YouTube video embedded directly on each slide so students can easily re-watch the parts that pertain to the activity or question they are doing.

Students are asked to analyze scenes, characters, symbols, and plot actions to make inferences based on thoughtful questions and activities.

Culminating Activity: Students can choose to write a sequel to the film, or create a movie scene with images. (this is simple and has clear instructions. Students can do this on their own with no problems.)

This fun workshop was designed for independent learning, with scaffolds and simple directions making it perfect for distance learning!
