Description
Introduce, practice, and review figurative language, literary devices, and story elements using these print and digital activities. This literary elements unit includes worksheets that detail all literary terms students need to know and identify, various methods to practice identifying the terms in literature, and assessments to test their learning. All activities come as printable, but some also have a digital version to help you differentiate learning in the classroom.
Students will learn:

- Story plot diagram
- Introduction/exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution

How to use the activities in your classroom:
- Begin the back to school season by teaching students about literary terms and figurative language. This will provide a good starting point prior to reading class novels and other reading assignments.
- Literary stations: Have students practice these skills in different stations so they can work together to learn and retain the concepts.
- Reference sheets: Hand out the literary terms sheet so students can refer to it all year long!
- Sub plans: Practice worksheets are perfect for sub plans!
